Fantastic hospitality and great location. The host went out the way to ensure my stay was comfortable!

Great location, close to a nice quiet beach. Well priced meals and beer available. Friendly hosts who made me feel relaxed and at home.

Relaxing, quite and homely place to stay.
The family who own the hostel are extremely nice and helpful, make you feel at home. The hostel is further out of the way, not really a place where many western tourists will go, which is nice to get away from now and again. Felt like seeing a bit more El Salvador than you might see in busier places like El Tunco. A nice long sandy beach around 5-10 minutes walk away (too rough to swim too deep) with some nice tavernas to get some really good food at good value. The hostel can supply breakfast and dinner and you can also buy beers from the fridge. A very relaxing and genuine place.

Not a good place to stay!
We only booked this place because of Semana Santa (Easter) coming up and everything at the coast was fully booked. It's a bit far off, rundown. It says "free wifi", but the owner buys wifi per GB, so half the time we didn't have any. An issue when you trying to book the next part of your trip. The shower hardly worked, you have to lean in over the sink. And the water came up from the pipes. The couple had and open argue about the room and that it wasn't finished when we arrived. The owner yelled high several times at his wife for us to hear. The bike rental part is one bike (there were two of us). The bin in the toilet was still full with pre-guets used toilet paper. The facilities in the room had an layer of dust on top. For the price of 23$ for one night it was a disaster. Playa San Diego is really nice and the surroundings are slow, like really. Save yourself some curse words and pay an bit extra and go to El Tunco instead.
That it's close to a beach. If you take the short-cut through the woods.
